Mavis:
A young stuck-up diesel, Mavis, came to work for the Anopha Quarry though she kept putting the trucks in different sidings, to Toby’s annoyance. Mavis was made prouder when Daisy claims that diesel engines are better than steam engines. Mavis took a train of trucks down the level crossing only to get held back at a certain spot on the crossing. Toby had to come and help her, with Mavis now doubting Daisy’s advice.
Daisy’s Train:
Mavis came to the yard to get refueled when she met up with Daisy again. Daisy stubbornly tells Mavis that she never takes trucks; this is until Daisy had to take some trucks from Ffarquhar
A New Engine:
With the workload getting bigger on the Ffarquhar branch-line, The Fat Controller manage to bring a tank engine from a heritage railway. The Fat Controller has the engine, Rosie, work alongside Toby, with him showing her how the branch-line is run, with Rosie being able to control the trucks easily. The engines begin to get impressed, though Thomas doesn’t fully trust her.
One day Rosie noticed Toby rushing down the line with the trucks pushing him. Acting quickly, Rosie follows behind them before managing to couple to the break van and brings the train to a stop before they can reach the mainline, almost colliding with

Lily Stone, a misunderstood teenage girl, goes to the Island of Sodor, to visit her grandfather, Burnett Stone, who hides himself away from the nearby village, and often goes to a mysterious old workshop.
When arriving at Barrow-in-Furness, Lily was surprised when she spotted Edward there. Lily happened to know him from a series of books that she used to read as a child, took his train to Elsbridge, there she met and befriended Thomas, who took her in his train to the station where her grandfather meets with her.
