Edward's Day Out
Narrator: once upon a time, there is a little blue engine named Edward, who lived in a big shed alongside a few other engines as well, some of them were bigger than Edward and boasted about it.

Gordon: you, I not think so, I'm the strongest and plus I pull the express
Edward: well I haven't been out for a long time, maybe I could
Gordon: oh they won't pick you, they want big strong enignes like us
Red Engine: leave him alone Gordon
Emily: well I hope they do pick you Edward, you are really useful
Edward: thank you Emily, we'll just need to wait and see

Driver:*comes alongside the shed* why so sad Edward, would you like to come out today?
Edward: oh yes please sir
Fireman:*gets in to Edward's cab and starts shoveling coal in to his fire*
Driver:*starts cleaning Edward*
Red engine/Emily: good luck today Edward

Driver:*pulls the regulator*
Edward:*whistles and puffs off* look at me know, look at me know

Red Engine: indeed

Coach 2: we'll have to wait and see
Edward:*backs in to the sidings* hello there girls
Coaches: Edward
Coach 3: we haven't seen you for a long time
Coach 2: please don't bump us around like most of the other engines do
Narrator: Edward carefully buffers up to the coaches and takes them to the platform
Coach 1: thank you Edward, we are glad you're taking out today
Edward: so am I *stops at the platform* get in quickly please
Narrator: the passengers boarded quickly and Edward waited for the guard, but there wasn't no sound of a whistle or a flag being waved
Driver: what the...? *to Stationmaster* hi stationmaster, have you seen the guard
Stationmaster: I'm afraid not
Driver: oh okay then *to the porter* have you seen the guard?
Porter: oh yes, at the pub the other night
Fireman: how can that help?!
Porter: well you did asks
Narrator: for awhile there wasn't no guard
Edward: are we ever going to start, my first run and there's no guard
Little boy: here he comes
Narrator: the guard was running down the hill with his flags in one hand and a sandwich in the other, he run to the platform, blow his whistle and jumps in to the last coach
Driver: let's go
Edward:*puffs out of the station* here we go
Narrator: Edward had a wonderful run and met some old friends along with away
Edward: hello there Mr and Mrs Payson
Mr Payson: hello there Edward
Mrs Payson: good to see you out and about
Edward: thank you Mrs Payson
Narrator: Edward made it back to the station in good time and then returned to the shed
Emily: you must have had a great day Edward
Molly: y-yes, I agree
Edward: yes, I have Emily and Molly, I wonder what the others think
Narrator: but he didn't hear that they thought, he was so happy and tired he went to sleep at once
